Bourbon Girl with some Heat

This week I'm sharing a recipe that goes with another classic book: Farenheit 451. This book is all about fire. While this cocktail is not on fire, it does have a hit. A perfect change of a classic cocktail that marries well with this literary classic!

Up the Farenheit

Bourbon Cocktail

Ingredients

2 oz Bourbon

1 oz Lemon Juice

1/2 oz Simple Syrup

Two dashes of Cayenne

Garnish: Lemon Peel

Recipe: In a cocktail shaker with ice, pour bourbon, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Dash in the cayenne (to taste). Close and Shake until cold. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lemon peel. The trick of this cocktail is that you get the hit of cayenne at the end. It doesn't hit you at the front, but it does hit you at the back. This is a sipping cocktail! Let's not kill ourselves with the spice.
