Toasted Sour: The Start of the Toasted Series

There's nothing I love more than a good whiskey. I ordered this toasted whiskey while I was celebrating my birthday. I loved the mix of caramel smell and whiskey power. It's something you can sip on after a long day. When I first get a bottle of whiskey, I usually sip it and then think about what cocktails I can create with it. How it can be played with and become playful. This toasted whiskey is a little bitter, strong, and something that you can play with sweet and sour flavors. My first cocktail is a whiskey sour. I liked the freshness of lemon and the toasted balance. It's a simple drink that you can make after a bad day or something that you can create for guests that is just a little more elevated.

Toasted Sour

Ingredients

2 oz Toasted Whiskey

1 oz Lemon Juice

1 oz Simple Syrup

4 dashes of Peychauds Bitters

4 dashes of edible Rainbow Glitter (optional but makes it special)

Garnish: Lemon Peel

Recipe

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, let the whiskey flow like a sweet serenade, followed by the bright embrace of fresh lemon juice and a whisper of simple syrup. Add a dash of Peychaud's bitters, like a secret shared between lovers, and sprinkle in a touch of rainbow glitter to capture the magic of your connection. Close the shaker and shake gently until it feels cool to the touch, as if you’re holding hands with your beloved (about ten seconds). Strain this enchanting elixir into a coupe glass, or a martini glass if you prefer a classic touch. Finally, garnish with a delicate twist of lemon peel, a symbol of zest in your romance, and let the evening unfold with every sip.
