For part two, I want to share my favorite twists on strawberry cocktails. These cocktails I created because I had a lot of strawberries and didn't want to do the same old same old cocktails. These are perfect strawberry cocktails made sure to enjoy in the beautiful spring weather and eating strawberries!
Somebody said Strawberry
Strawberry Paloma
Ingredients
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Grapefruit juice
1/2 oz Lime juice
Four muddled Strawberries
Garnish: Salt rim and strawberry
Recipe: This is a simple cocktail that is great if you are trying to cut down on your sugar. I like it for it's simplicity to make but complexity of taste. A normal Paloma requires grapefruit juice and tequila. This with the muddled strawberry and lime juice adds a natural sweetness and tartness to the cocktail. To make it, you have to muddle sliced strawberries in a cocktail shaker. Add some ice and then pour the other ingredients. You give it a nice shake and then pour into a cocktail glass with ice. I like to add a salt rim because I think it makes the tequila and grapefruit juice taste better and then a strawberry to remind you what you are drinking!
I Strawberry Tried
Strawberry Champagne
Ingredients
2 oz Gin
1 oz Lime juice
Three muddled Strawberries
Brut Champagne
Garnish: Strawberry
Recipe: If you have been following along on my cocktail journey, you know that I love my bubbles. I think champagne cocktails are both delightful and fun to make! This is a twist on a gin cocktail with the addition of brut champagne to lighten it up and balance the sweetness of the strawberries. Like the prior cocktail, the muddled strawberries serve as the natural sugar base for the cocktail. You muddle strawberries in a cocktail shaker then add ice, gin, and lime juice. Once you shake it up, you can pour it into a coupe glass and top with brut champagne. Garnish is of course a strawberry.
