I want to start this Monday off with a good mocktail that plays into a favorite flavor of mine: orange. I know I usually save my oranges for my old fashioneds, but this week I wanted to share how you can up the ante of an orange to make it flavorful without the bourbon. This vanilla orange cocktail will hit you where you need it with sweetness and freshness. Adding a bit of turmeric to the cocktail I think helps add a healthy bit to the mocktail and also adds a little spice.
Oranges for Days
Mocktail
Ingredients
Top with Sparkling Water
1/2 oz Vanilla
1 oz Orange Juice
Two dashes of Turmeric
Garnish: Orange Slice
Recipe: In a cocktail shaker, muddle half an orange with turmeric. Add ice, vanilla, and orange juice. Shake until cold. Pour into a double old fashioned glass with an ice cube. Top with Sparkling Water. Garnish with an orange slice. This cocktail is perfect when you need a little extra hydration and want something that is fun but not alcoholic. It's a perfect happy hour cocktail that works great for a snack especially anything salty or savory.
