Becky Sharp Approves of this cocktail

The first book that I read as a kid and really got me into reading was at sixteen when I read Vanity Fair by William Makepeace Thackeray. I know it's an odd choice to pick up and start reading as a teenager but I did (and I never told anyone I was normal). I really love this book and the social relationships of the characters. To celebrate Becky, I made a fancy cocktail that hits strong but is pretty enough that she would approve.

Champagne Cocktail

Ingredients

Blanc de Blanc Champagne

2 oz Gin

1 oz Lemon juice

1/2 oz Simple syrup

One Sprig of Lavender

Garnish: Lavender Sprig

Recipe: In a cocktail shaker, muddle lavender and simple syrup. Add ice then add gin and lemon juice. Shake until cold. Pour into a flute glass. Top with Champagne.
