A Gothic Sun: Gin and Thyme with a little blood orange

This cocktail is a pretty one! It's got some gin and some blood orange which adds a perfect sweetness.

Gin Cocktail

Ingredients

2 oz Gin

1/2 oz Cointreau

1 oz Blood Orange Juice

1/2 oz Simple Syrup

4 sprigs of thyme

Garnish: Sprig of Thyme and Blood Orange Peel

I love a simple elevated cocktail. I love blood orange juice. It usually only has a short season so I grab a bunch and just play with the flavors.

Recipe: In a cocktail shaker, muddle thyme and simple syrup. Add ice. Pour Blood orange juice, gin, and cointreau. Close and shake until cold to the touch (takes about ten seconds). Double strain into a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a sprig of thyme and blood orange peel.
