For this Strawberry Season, I want to start off with a classic fruit twist. I wanted to do a strawberry season bourbon sour. This cocktail elevates the sour from the fall to the springtime and also makes it perfectly sweet!
Strawberry is not that Sour
Bourbon Sour
Ingredients
2 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Cointreau
1 oz Lemon Juice
6 Slices of Strawberry
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
Garnish: Strawberry
Recipe: In a cocktail shaker, muddle strawberry slices and simple syrup. Add ice then add the rest of the ingredients. Shake until cold. Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with a strawberry. On the daily, my cocktail hour always includes a glass of water. Alcohol is dehydrating and adding sugar only adds to that. As for what to pair this cocktail with, I would add something savory or salty. This balances the sweetness of the cocktail.
