Never let Champagne be a pain

Sometimes my inspiration comes from the darker side of fairy tales. I picked two characters for my champagne cocktails that have a dark past. I mean we all have a past but can you really fight Dracula and Esmeralda? To pair these cocktails, I highly suggest viewing the original movies (not by Disney). They are great with a little popcorn movie night with your favorite snuggle buddy.

Starting out with Esmeralda who I will admit was first presented to me in a Disney movie. To my childhood horror, this Disney movie did not have the quite so happy ending as I was used to. I do still love the story (especially now that I am older). I liked watching the older iteration which didn't disney-fy the story.

1 oz creme de mure

1/2 oz lime juice

1/2 oz honey syrup

Recipe: In a shaker with ice, combine creme de violette, creme de mure, honey syrup, and lime juice. Shake until cold. Pour into a chilled coupe glass and top with champagne 🍾

Dracula is one of my favorite horror characters. There are so many Dracula movies from good to gloriously bad. I love them all. I mean who doesn't love a vampire who drinks blood out of a wine glass? To me that is so epic. Inspired by the book and early movies, I created a champagne cocktail that hits the right notes of creepy and bloody.

These cocktails are perfect party cocktails and get me right in the feels for the end of summer and start of fall. I love when the cooler weather steps in and takes over. It makes me feel so cozy. I hope you enjoy these cocktails curled up with a good book or movie or just hosting a party on Zoom.
