Feeling a Bit Sour: Whiskey Sour Drop

A fun flavor addition: ginger. Let's add some ginger and lemon together with a bit of whiskey. This whiskey sour has a very fun spring layer: adding the blackberries for sweetness and color. All the ingredients make for a great drink and a fun cocktail!

Not so Sour Today

Whiskey Sour

Ingredients

2 oz Break Maiden Whiskey

1 oz Lemon Juice

1 oz Ginger Simple Syrup

Four Blackberries (Muddled)

Garnish: Blackberries

Recipe: In a cocktail shaker, muddle blackberries and ginger simple syrup. Add ice then pour lemon juice and whiskey. Close and shake until cold. Double Strain into a coupe glass. Garnish with blackberries.

Ginger Simple Syrup: When you make the simple syrup you start with two things: one part sugar and one part water. For the ginger, first wait for the sugar to start to melt in the pan with the water. Then add ginger slices (take a ginger root and slice pieces either rounds or long) and let it sit for a bit. For future use, put into a mason jar. The ginger flavor will be stronger the more that it sits.
