Dessert Time for the Holidays
It's Monday, the holidays are in full swing and I'm preparing a manhattan for myself because I believe in #treatyourself. When it starts to get a little close to the holidays, I start getting all the cozy vibes and want to curl up and watch movies all day. As a classic movie lover, I usually go all the way with the movie marathon from the 1940s and 50s. It gives me all the options for holiday movies.
Cinnamon for the Win
2 oz Cinnamon Whiskey
1 oz Rumchata
Three dashes of Angostura Bitters
Garnish: Luxardo cherry and dash of cinnamon
Recipe: In a cocktail shaker, pour cinnamon whiskey, Rumchata, and angostura bitters with ice. Give it a nice shake and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with a luxardo cherry and dash of cinnamon on top. For the garnish of cinnamon, I have found that sprinkling the cinnamon into the glass can be a little potent if you don't use a metal spoon. Above the glass and the cocktail, sprinkle the cinnamon by focusing on the flat side of a tablespoon. The spoon will catch some but not all of the cinnamon leaving you a perfect dose.
