Cherry Lime Tequila: A little sweet and a little strong

This Tequila cocktail was a fun find. I was looking for something to utilize my fresh cherries and something that I would drink with tequila. This cocktail is one I would make again and again.

Cherry Lime Fine

Tequila Cocktail

Ingredients

2 oz Tequila

1 oz Amaretto Liqueur

1 oz Lime Juice

1/2 oz Simple Syrup or Agave

1/4 oz Orange Juice (one quarter of an orange)

3 cherries (pitted and muddled)

Garnish: Cherries

Recipe

In a cocktail shaker, place pitted dark cherries. Muddle to break them apart and get that nice cherry flavor and color. Add ice. Then pour tequila, amaretto, lime juice, orange juice, and simple syrup. Close and shake until cold to the touch. Strain into a soda or highball glass with ice. Garnish with cherries.

You can choose to do agave over simple syrup. I chose simple because I had it available and I don't like my drinks to be too sweet. I also reduced the amount of orange because of the sweetness. You do you. It's all about making the perfect cocktail.
