This minty lemon cocktail is a perfect summer cocktail. A little bourbon is a saving grace in the summer heat. This cocktail is bright and light which is a surprising turn for a bourbon drink. It's great for a little picnic or a charcuterie board snack session.

Deputy Marigold
Bourbon Cocktail

Ingredients
2 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Limoncello Liqueur
1 oz Lemon Juice
6 Mint Leaves
Garnish: Lemon Peel and Mint Leaves

Recipe
In a cocktail shaker, muddle mint leaves. You basically want to smell the mint leaves intensely (make it really minty). Add ice. Then pour the lemon juice, limoncello liqueur, and bourbon. Close and shake until cold. Strain into an old fashioned glass with a large ice cube. Garnish with mint leaves and lemon peel.

Pro Tips
This is a bright cocktail! I know you might be thinking I forgot to add my sugar but my limoncello liqueur is so sweet that it perfectly balances things out. That being said this is a strong cocktail. It's not for the weak. It's also meant to be sipped not slugged. I hope you enjoy!
