Champagne Problems

It's finally Friday, y'all! I love champagne on a Friday. It's like the perfect expression of the Friday feeling and the time off and celebrations. We are gearing up to celebrate spring so I wanted to share two simple twists of spring that you can use for your next celebration or your next bottle of bubbles.

Strawberry Lemonade

Champagne cocktail

I love this cocktail for the combination of simple ingredients and personalization. Prefer more bubbles than gin? Reduce the amount of gin. Prefer gin over bubbles? Top the cocktail with fewer bubbles. Nothing complex here.

Ingredients

1 1/2 oz Gin

1 oz Lemon juice

Three muddled strawberries

Top with Champagne

Garnish: Strawberry

Recipe: This is a super easy one that you can make ahead for a celebratory cocktail hour. Slice up three strawberries. In a cocktail shaker muddled the strawberry slices. Add ice then gin and lemon juice. Shake it up! Pour into a chilled coupe glass. Top with champagne.

Orange Basic Bitch

Cava cocktail

Now I said Champagne problems, but let me tell you: Cava has also caused me problems. If you like your bubbly a little drier and more powerful then you need to get on the Cava train. The Spanish version of sparkling wine has grown in the last few years. It makes sense. It's great wine that won't kill you financially like a really good bottle of champagne might.

Ingredients

1 oz Gin

1 oz Orange juice

Cava

Garnish: Orange slice

Recipe: This is my favorite go to cava cocktail. I love to pair the orange flavor with the gin and wine. In a cocktail shaker, pour gin and orange juice. Shake until cold. Pour into a chilled coupe glass. Top with Cava. Garnish with an orange slice.
