Sometimes I like to switch up the oranges I buy from the store. The typical is navel oranges. This past week, I went for some Cara Cara Oranges. I like the super sweetness and color that comes with it.

Cara Cara Girl
Bourbon Cocktail

Ingredients
2 oz Bourbon
1/2 oz Cointreau/Orange Liqueur
1 oz Cara Cara Orange Juice
4 dashes of Peychaud's Bitters
Garnish: Orange Slice

Cara Cara Oranges are a little sweeter but not as sweet as blood oranges. This cocktail is a nice spring trick. It's easy to make and super easy to sip on. Perfect for after a busy day and the need for a strong cocktail overwhelms you. I find it to be easy and fun! Plus you know I love my bourbon.

Recipe: In a cocktail mixing glass (or as I call it the base/glass portion of my shaker), pour bourbon, cointreau, and orange juice. Dash in the bitters. Stir quickly and pour over a large ice cube in an old fashioned glass. Garnish with an orange slice.
Cheers y'all!
