Cherry Lime Margarita is something perfectly sweet and so elevated! I love creating this cocktail for my tequila lovers because it's a little different and it's so easy to drink. Perfect for sipping in the summer sun after a long day.

Cherry Lime So Fine
Tequila Margarita

Ingredients
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Amaretto
1 1/2 oz Lime Juice
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
6 Cherries (pitted and muddled)
Garnish: Cherries
Salt Rim

Recipe
In a cocktail shaker, begin the process by carefully muddling fresh, dark cherries with a generous amount of simple syrup. The simple syrup, which is made by dissolving equal parts sugar and water, enhances the natural sweetness of the cherries while also providing a smooth texture. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently press down on the cherries, releasing their juices and creating a rich, flavorful base.
Next, add a handful of ice to the shaker, filling it about halfway. This will help chill the mixture as you prepare to add the spirits. Pour in a measured amount of tequila, which serves as the backbone of the cocktail, imparting its distinct agave flavor. Then, introduce amaretto, a sweet almond-flavored liqueur that adds depth and complexity to the drink. Finally, squeeze in fresh lime juice; the acidity of the lime will balance the sweetness of the cherries and amaretto, creating a harmonious blend of flavors.
Once all the ingredients are in the shaker, securely close it and shake vigorously for about ten seconds. The goal is to chill the mixture thoroughly while also allowing the flavors to meld together. You’ll know it’s ready when the outside of the shaker feels cold to the touch.
While the cocktail is chilling, prepare your margarita glass by rimming the edge with salt. To do this, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass to moisten it, then dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt, ensuring an even coating. This salty rim will enhance the overall taste of the cocktail.
After rimming the glass, fill it with crushed ice, creating a refreshing bed for your drink. Now, it’s time to double strain the mixture from your cocktail shaker. First, use a standard strainer to pour the cocktail over the crushed ice, then follow up with a fine mesh strainer to catch any cherry bits or ice shards, resulting in a smooth, visually appealing pour.
To finish, garnish your beautifully crafted cocktail with a couple of dark cherries on top. This not only adds a pop of color but also invites the drinker to savor the flavors found within. Enjoy your chilled cherry margarita, taking a moment to appreciate the delightful blend of sweet, tart, and nutty flavors in every sip!
