Sometimes a girl just needs to use up the bit of Aperol she has before the Aperol Spritz season. This cocktail is a fun twist on the bourbon old fashioned. It mixes the Aperol orange taste with blood orange juice and bourbon. So it becomes balanced and easy to drink. I love this drink for the simplicity and the fact that it makes bourbon easy to drink.

A Bloody Bright Day
Bourbon Cocktail

Ingredients
2 oz Bourbon
1 oz Aperol
1 oz Blood Orange Juice
Garnish: Optional Blood Orange Peel
Recipe: In a cocktail shaker with ice, pour all ingredients. Shake until cold about ten to fifteen seconds. Strain into an old fashioned glass with a large ice cube. You can garnish as you please. I like to do nothing. It's already a simple drink, might as well as make it as easy as possible.
