Book in a Bar: A new Series

One of my favorite things to do is take myself out on a date. I'll go for a happy hour then go home and make myself a big dinner.

This week I hit up a neighborhood staple: Brewer's Art. While you can order cocktails, I went with a beer. They have an upstairs and basement bar as well as a restaurant space. In my opinion, people are scared to go to out alone and have a drink. I actually enjoy it. It forces me to read in a way. I feel the pressure but also feel relaxed. It gives me the opportunity to step out in an outfit and own who I am and what I like to do. When I was in my early twenties, I went to a bar and I saw this older woman drinking with a book at the bar. I asked her why she did it and she said she likes to get out of the house. When I have a date with myself, I think of her. It's not about the other people, it's about doing something you enjoy! So go out and take yourself out.
